The objective of this study is to examine the future of local Crowdfunding. This is done from two perspectives, namely, that of start-up companies and that of the public in general. The key questions asked are: how will the perspective of the pubic evolve in the future as compared to the present one? And what should be done in order to increase awareness of Crowdfunding? The research concludes that there is a lack of knowledge and information among the general public concerning Crowdfunding, though this is being slowly rectified by time. This lack of awareness is partly due to the enduring conservative culture of the Maltese population. This study is of utmost significance due to the fact that it identifies a local Crowdfunding platform that could develop as a catalyst for the propagation of a Crowdfunding culture. Despite the fact that this platform has not achieved extraordinary success in its early years, it is well positioned to spread awareness of this innovative investment concept.en_GB
