Abstract: The aim of this dissertation is to design and develop a teaching/learning Resource Pack for the topics of Statistics and Probability for the Form 1 and 2, Levels 7.1-8.1 Syllabi. The structure of the handouts and the Promethean Interactive Whiteboard flipcharts follows a theoretical model based on Graham’s PCAI Stages, the Data- Handling Cycle and Polya’s Problem Solving Heuristic; giving equal importance to the different stages in the data handling process. Particular attention was given to design principles related to: presentation; language; legibility and readability; use of graphics; and the relevance to the students’ everyday life experiences. Datacollection activities, drawing and interpreting charts, games, activities using spreadsheets, investigations, explorations, and cross-curricular activities feature in the Resource Pack which was designed to target students with different learning styles. Microsoft Office Publisher was used to develop worksheets, whilst Active Inspire was used to develop the Interactive Whiteboard flipcharts. Internet Explorer was also utilized for the integration of online ICT applets ad resources. The Resource Pack was then evaluated by Mathematics teachers and Heads of Departments. A critical analysis of the participants’ feedback was conducted and the results were used to improve the Resource Pack further. Finally, the main conclusions were drawn together with suggested research work.
