Abstract: The author describes her experience in lace making, how she was attracted to the subject and the research she carried out to try and find the origins of lace making in Malta and Gozo. The Diploma in Lace Studies offered by the University of Malta, Gozo Campus is a way of conducting further research into the history of Lace in Malta, educating participants on lace making and the history of lace and, ore importantly, ensuring that this traditional Maltese craft does not die out.
