Abstract: In this paper, I will argue that Nietzsche is a relativist, as demonstrated by his views on punishment, especially by the second and third essays of his On the Genealogy of Morals (1989b), in which Nietzsche discusses the origin of punishment and its relation to morality. Further proof for this interpretation can be found in his Ecce Homo (1989a).
