| Abstract: | The aim of this project is to outline a succession plan for a local family business, which is to be implemented internally by the third party successor. The project intends to answer the question of whether or not a second-to-third succession plan is able to bridge the gap created in the external environment over the past ten years. Throughout the course of the project the successor interviewed the incumbents and applied research and findings to current situations within the business. A key influencer in the local market with regards to succession planning in local firms was also interviewed to gain a better understanding and greater insight into the local scene. A single case study design was adopted and through the course of nine months a succession plan was devised and the first stages were implemented within Company Z. |
