Abstract: This paper seeks to identify any patterns relating to the public funding of the Cultural Sector, within the context of Malta. It will also explore the relationship between the Arts and the Cultural Heritage of the country and will also highlight any determinates to the level of funding granted by the government. This study applies a document analysis of two types of documents, the Budget Speeches and the Financial Estimate Documents of 2004 till the present. The idea behind was to extract the data of the types of initiatives and the level of funding granted, during the course of the thirteen years of EU membership, A number of findings emerged from the study, such as the number of initiatives the government propose for the arts and the amount of funds allocated for the preservation of the country’s Heritage. The study was inspired after the love for culture that the researcher developed over time and the researcher hopes that it will be a great contribution towards the benevolence of the cultural sector.
