Abstract: This document reports on the findings of a Public Attitude Survey undertaken by the Planning Directorate in July 1999. The purpose of the survey was to examine the views of the Maltese public on a number of land-use issues. Public consultation is an integral part of the planning process and the Planning Authority devotes a substantial amount of resources to elicit the views of the public in discharging its various functions. The Structure Plan Review process is no exception: government officials, private sector players, experts and the general public are expected to provide fundamental inputs into the planning process ranging from submission of data and information, to projections, plans, solutions and opinions.
