| Abstract: | The historical importance of the Cantilena by Pietro Caxaro is indisputable. The first poetic document in the Maltese language, therefore both local and foreign scholars have dealt with it, discussing its multiple linguistic and interpretative problems. Yet twenty years after its discovery, there still remains some obscure points because the Cantilena is also an enigma. The author shall continue to discuss the significance of discovering the Cantilena. |
