Abstract: This new book, with the interesting yet provocative title, Kinder Garden, Collection of Piano Pieces for Young Performers by Maltese Composers represents another milestone in the history of Maltese music. This work is not only a new book of Maltese compositions for piano students but also a collection of works that can be played in any concert and which piano teachers would definitely enjoy. Sponsored by the Bank of Valletta, Kinder Garden is a collection of short pieces for piano by leading Maltese composers. It was Charles Camilleri's idea to gather around him a group of composers, some of whom are also his students, to present a collection of music for children in book format. It should also be noted that these compositions are mostly by young Maltese musicians.
