Abstract: The story of the fall of Malta in 870 has been the subject of an extensive paper published by me some years ago in the book commemorating the 50 years since the founding of the Maltese Historical Society. In this paper, I showed how this event has been recorded by a number of Muslim chroniclers and there is more than one Arab Chronicler who discusses this fall. Some are known to local historians. Others are less known or totally unknown to local history enthusiasts. In this analysis, I shall be proposing three chroniclers, Ibn Al Athlr, Ibn Khaldun and al-Qalqashandy.
