Abstract: The objective of this dissertation was to draw a profile of a student organisation, analysing its politics and services. AIESEC Malta, a recognised student organisation at the University of Malta campus and a recognised legal Non-Governmental Organisation, was chosen as a case study. This dissertation started from the definitions of civil society, NGOs and Student organisations. It also analysed the role of these organisations within University of Malta campus and wider society. The profile was built through data collected through nine semi-structured interviews. The participants were selected from present and former AIESEC members, Partners of AIESEC Malta, KSU and representatives of student organisations. Other data was obtained from secondary sources and the author's own insights based on her experience in AIESEC Malta Findings suggest that student organisations play an important role in shaping tomorrow's society. Through various services provided to their stakeholders, such as training, networking, leadership and self development opportunities, student organisations work towards: encouraging and challenging youth to be active in society; facilitating student mobility; preparing students for their future careers; and helping in personal development. It is recommended that further in-depth studies on student involvement within the University of Malta campus are conducted to give a comprehensive view of the role of student organisations. This study is beneficial not just to AIESEC Malta and other student organisations, but also to the wider society, in recognising that these organisations train tomorrow's leaders. Through this dissertation, the hard work and dedication of many students that are involved in student organisations was academically acknowledged.
