Abstract

When the post-secondary reforms of 1995 brought forth the new, unprecedented Intermediate Level, the biggest headache for Physics teachers and students in Malta was that of finding a book that was neither too simple nor too complicated for the programme of study that had to be carried out. At the G.P. Abela Junior College, the prevalent view, among Physics staff, was that no single book on the market could adequately address the requirements of the local Intermediate Physics syllabus. It was generally agreed that an entirely new textbook would have to be developed.
