Abstract: In this article we shall look at some common postulates on the understanding of a Mediterranean diet in Europe and amongst Europeans. The purpose of this study is to looks at the various different understanding aspects of the topic; The History of Mediterranean dietary habits, from a historical point of view, the Mediterranean diet in terms of tradition and qualities, and a modern understanding view of the Mediterranean diet. The intention to Exploring the Mediterranean diet is not the idea to start a debate or intend to define what the Mediterranean diet is, though rather to give an open understanding of the topic and the present day perception and understanding of the topic.
