Abstract: Sultana's chapter on the relationship between employers and education in Malta provides an exhaustive scholar's view of the school-industry link. In writing my reaction, I will concentrate on the experiences I have had with dealing both with educational officials and employers and employer organisations in my capacity as manager responsible for vocational training at the Employment & Training Corporation (ETC). My position puts me in continuous contact with education officials and employers to discuss vocational education and training. However, as I am more heavily involved in vocational training and the practical training part of vocational education rather than vocational education per se, I prefer to comment on Sultana's paper where it concerns labour demand and supply, vocational training provision and the employers' view of such provision.
