Abstract: Humanity is the climax of creation in Genesis. All humankind searches for answers to questions relating to the origins of humans and the meaning of their existence on earth. The first three chapters of the book of Genesis shall be examined in this study, through the help of research conducted by various scholars. This study aims at analysing interpretations from various scholars in order to understand the meaning of creation of humanity, its life on earth along with its relationship to its creator. The story of the fall of humanity is analysed while enquiring into the consequences of this fall on human dignity and human-God relationship. The study ends by reflecting on the resemblance of modern day transgressions with that of our first parents.
