Abstract: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems are becoming a vital tool for industries in today’s globalized business environment in order to enhance performance as well as give firms a competitive edge. Research has shown that healthcare organizations are encouraged to implement an ERP system, as it has proven to improve the quality of services provided to patients. A successful implementation of an ERP system in healthcare shows an increase in productivity and also enables employees to work better and in a more efficient manner. Through research, this report aims to gain and create a general understanding of how ERP systems have been previously employed in the healthcare sector as well as how an ERP could be utilized to enhance the services provided to patients by the healthcare industry. The report will also focus on critical success factors (CSF) and how these help to focus on a limited amount of areas associated with performance.
