Abstract: In this research paper the author discusses the correlation between migration and tourism, and the impacts of migrant workers on the Maltese tourism sector, by means of a multi-disciplinary approach. Although this research paper focuses on the Maltese Islands, it also looks to the global situation, especially Europe, where some countries are the main targets of migrants seeking improved economic circumstances. The author of this research paper explored the different impacts that effect the mobility of people and the working conditions these people are confronted with. Moreover, the legislation of Malta and the European Union’s stance towards migration are reviewed in this regard.
