Abstract: The objective of this paper is to determine how political events, such as the Turkish Invasion of Cyprus, the Lebanese Conflict and the Gulf War, affected the growth of tourism in Cyprus. The paper, by using four regression models, proves that political instabilities in Cyprus and/or neighboring countries had detrimental effect on the tourism of Cyprus.
