Student representation at the University of Malta : a history, 1901-1971

Abstract

It is always a challenge to write something from previously untapped and extensive sources. To write the history of an organisation which has been around from 1901 and on which nothing substantial has ever been written before is an exciting challenge for any researcher as, for the first time, the rich and colourful heritage of the Kunsill tal-iStudenti Universitarji could be brought to the notice of the general public. The many archive boxes which contain the life and times of the main University students' council under its various names and structures, were at long last given the chance to be brought out, thoroughly read and analysed when, on the occasion of its 110 anniversary, the KSU decided to go ahead with a project to publish its long and very interesting history in a systematic and researched way.
