Abstract: The Asia-Pacific region is among the fastest-growing in a global context. It is a region in which financial reforms have proceeded at a great pace as individual nations in the region perceive the benefits of financial integration. An important consequence of this financial reform is the competition among the island states of the region to establish offshore financial centre (OFC) status.
