| Abstract: | Purpose The main purpose of this dissertation is to assess and evaluate the current situation in Malta with respect to trust accounting and to explore whether due to the fact that there are no trust accounting guidelines in Malta, practitioners are facing problems. Furthermore, the study was evaluated to determine whether there is a need to develop a set of accounting guidelines for the preparation of trust accounts. Design The objective of this study was attained through a series of semi structured interviews, in total 6 interviews. The interviewees included four accountants, one auditor and one lawyer which is also a trustee. |
