Abstract: This project, of developing a passive hotel in Rzeszow (Poland) , originates from the basic idea that passive construction in Poland is still in a very early stage compared to other European countries. This because of Poland’s long-time dependence of USSR concerning energy resources. In latest decennia Poland becomes more and more independent from Russian energy sources, and considering the increasing interest in saving on energy this subject is very interesting to figure out how to apply for commercial objectives like a hotel. In this paper we will consider a number of actions we can do to realise a low-energy hotel; We do this, after designing the hotel, by using Excel -software in the German language. Since the software is only available in this language, which non of the users could speak, a lot of translation work was needed. We learned that this software can be utilized without having to much knowledge in advance, although we will learn that even with this prospect it is still unadvisable when not used by a specialist. Furthermore the loads of several compartments and elements were be calculated conform the Polish construction norms. This research resulted in design a hotel that suffices the European demands for passive houses and Polish architectural demands. Furthermore a ten-page paper was created that can be regarded as a small guidance with recommendations for Passive building in Poland.
