| Abstract: | The article expounds upon the relationship between the sacrament of the Eucharist and human freedom. The authentic celebration of the Eucharist commits Christians to be builders of just relations in the socio-economic and political sphere. The Eucharistic transformation of the individual and the Christian community makes Christians true witnesses of freedom -- the gift of the Risen Christ. The article traces the evidence borne by certain liturgical texts and various authors on the theme. Importance is also given to the contribution made by Pope John Paul II at the International Eucharistic Congress held in Wroclaw in 1997. |
