Title: | The notion of public faith and the office of notary public |
Authors: | Bugeja, Daniel John |
Keywords: | Notaries -- Malta Law -- Malta |
Issue Date: | 2011 |
Abstract: | I acknowledge the fact that following the research I conducted for this dissertation, my awareness of the area under discussion is still limited by age and general lack of experience. However, I believe that this thesis could prove useful to students who are reading law and those from other study areas, together with the notaries. I hope this is borne out by the the contents of the thesis itself which is divided into the following chapters: The introductory part provides a general idea of this dissertation. Chapter 1 gives a concise historical description of the development of the notary. Chapter 2 outlines the notarial profession and the Notarial Act which is the characteristic of the notarial office. Chapter 3 studies the evolution of Public Faith and analyzes the results of a questionnaire. The thrust of Chapter 4 is a discussion of the possibility of having different levels of public faith. Finally Chapter 5 highlights the general conclusions on the topics aforementioned whilst presenting certain proposals for a way forward. |
