Abstract: The prioritisation of sustainable and responsible practices within the tourism field has led to certain niche markets to be subjected to changes. When considering the Incentive travel and MICE business, clients are demanding the incorporation of CSR initiatives and practices on a significant scale. This dissertation focuses upon the various perspective of CSR within the tourism field, with specific reference to Incentive tourism and MICE business. Research was directed towards the service providers recognised by the MTA as Quality Assured DMC's and was undertaken in order to understand whether the Importance of CSR is being acknowledged within the local business scenario. Research has shown that CSR is still considered as an Environmental practice, and the social and economic spheres tend to be ignored. A stronger awareness is required in order to tally with the expectations and set targets of the growing CSR demand within the Incentive and MICE tourism field. A joint effort is also required between the local Authority and service provider and should be achieved through the implementation of tools such as policies. Attaining a desired CSR recognition could ultimately help towards obtaining a balance between sustainable and responsible tourism practices for the benefit of all the components of the tourism supply and demand chain.
