Abstract: The main objective of this dissertation is to determine whether the setting up of an academic school for aestheticians in Malta is financially feasible. For this purpose, expenditure and revenue were estimated, together with the method of financing the project. Investment Appraisal Techniques were used to evaluate the viability of the project. Demand for the courses offered was determined through the use of interviewer-completed and self-completion questionnaires. Additionally, various quotations were obtained in order to estimate as realistic as possible the initial capital expenditure involved. Through the use of Discounted Cash Flow Techniques and Sensitivity Analysis it was concluded that it is financially feasible to invest in the proposed project. From the study carried out, it is evident that there are individuals who are willing to attend the courses offered by the proposed school. Therefore, if the assumptions made throughout the dissertation hold true, such a project is economically feasible and should be implemented. The principles used in this dissertation can be useful for those students who would be interested in conducting a feasibility study in the future.
