Abstract: The scope of this dissertation was to study cloud computing in an educational construct with a focus on the investigation of the efficiency and the effectiveness of the cloud-based service delivery models currently at University of Malta. These services include VLE, eSIMS and Google Apps. These applications were also examined when accessed on mobile devices. In this research, the maturity and satisfaction levels of the three different audiences, that make use of these cloud-based applications, were studied. A survey was constructed in order to collect the needed data. Questionnaires were distributed to three audiences which include students, administrative staff and lecturers that currently work/attend the University of Malta. This was achieved with the help of the registrar, the HR Department and social media. Through feedback one could conclude that the majority of the audiences at the University of Malta were somewhat satisfied with the current cloud-based service delivery models. However improvements are to be made especially when these services are accessed by mobile devices. Having said that, the cloud-based service delivery models that are currently adopted by the University of Malta and Google Apps are much more accessible on laptops/PC’s and tablets rather than on smartphones. To justify this cause, it was found that these applications tend to be more problematic on smartphones rather than on tablets.
