Abstract: This research focuses on the Impact of the Libyan Civil war on Tektraco Ltd. It explores in detail strategic planning, contingency planning as well as and continuity planning and how plans could be formulated for a project integrating firm. The study sheds light on the tools which can be implemented to assess possible macro environment factors in the future which will have an impact on the organisation and to mitigate potential threats. The analysis of primary data contributed in providing a more in depth understanding of how Tektraco was managed during the Libyan Crisis and to what extent the management incorporated Emergency Management and Business Continuity measures into its organisation structures. Additionally, secondary data was used to obtain further insight of how Tektraco conducted business prior to the crisis. This information was used to shed light on the salient moments of the Libyan crisis and how this affected Tektraco's operation. The general findings in this study have shown that there should be more awareness of Strategic Contingency Planning. The fact that Tektarco historically operated in two markets gave a false sense of security and hindered the efforts in trying to capitalise from other foreign markets. The crisis put a lot of strain on the organisation's financial and human resources to make it through the crisis. Scenario planning could have been an asset for Tektarco in resuming full operations in the already saturated Maltese market. Scenario planning could prove to be a useful tool for Tektraco in the future order to diversify its operation into foreign niche markets which would serve as a means of contingency for allowing business continuity.
