Issue Date: 2013
Abstract: In this study the researcher looked at a number of issues concerning the importance of Internet Marketing for Boutique Hotels in Malta. The study also extended to the concept of boutique hotels, as they are not easily defined, and yet it would not be wise to introduce parameters limiting hotels to describe themselves as 'boutique'. Also, the study focused on three key elements of Internet Marketing; Search Engine Optimization, Website Design and Social Media Marketing, and their importance to the hospitality sector of Tourism, with a direct reference to boutique hotels. The researcher carried out both desk and field research in an attempt to find the necessary answers to validate the claim that Internet Marketing is a must for modern day businesses. The analysis centred itself around comparisons between the answers of different establishments as well as Internet Marketing experts in the industry.
