Abstract: The baby boom generation is characterised by the way in which they are changing the way previous generations were living. The Maltese baby boomers are no exception. This study revolves around the issue of retirement, since many of these baby boomers are now either in retirement or are going to embark on retirement very soon. This study aims at giving a better understanding of how the Maltese baby boom generation are preparing for retirement, as well as their perceptions and expectations of their life-styles during retirement. Some of these issues include the choice between partial retirement and full retirement amongst others. The reasons for such choices are also going to factor in this study, some of them including financial and health concerns. This study also discusses certain post-retirement activities which prove to be popular with the Maltese baby boom generation.
