The change of Serbia's political sovereignty in Kosovo : a critical analysis of the underlying factors

Abstract

The following dissertation is an analysis of Serbia's political sovereignty in Kosovo with a particular focus on the examination of the underlying factors. It emphases the interrelation between political sovereignty and the determining factors. As a case study the dissertation focuses on the political sovereignty of Serbia in Kosovo as maintained by different government policies prior to and following the 1999 NATO bombing. Covering the period between 1945 and 2013, the dissertation employs a number of different theories aimed at analysing the determining factors presented in the case study. Furthermore, the focus is put on the events taking place during the last decade of the Twentieth Century and the first decade of the Twenty First Century and their impacts on the state. Consequently, the dissertation utilizes an IPE approach by analysing the relation between political and economic developments.
