Abstract: The purpose of this study was to examine the Health and Safety (H & S) aspects of the Small Animal's Quarantine Section at Luqa. I am an animal lover and although my first priority was the investigation of the H & S at the work place, I could not but also consider the state in which animals maintained in quarantine are kept. The first step was a site visit of these quarters and an interview with the employees. A questionnaire was later presented to the employees, owners of pet animal kept at the premises and visitors. The outcome of this questionnaire was analyzed and recommendations suggested. The importance of Health & Safety at an animal quarantine section is two fold; whilst the occupational Health & Safety of the employees is of vital importance, one must also take into account the Health & Safety relative to the environmental issues.
