ACCLAIMED Project unveils new features empowering educators

The team behind the ACCLAIMED Project, which stands for Artificial Intelligence Content Cloning of Language-Agnostic Media for Education Democratisation, and is supported and funded by Xjenza Malta as part of the Technology Development Programme Lite, has announced a major expansion of its educational technology platform. Following the successful demonstration of its first prototype phase, ACCLAIMED has undergone significant updates that enhance usability, collaboration, and academic integration.

Originally designed to help educators generate structured learning materials using generative AI, ACCLAIMED combines lesson design, ethical oversight, and multimedia rendering into a single, streamlined platform. Its core system assists educators in creating course content such as lesson plans, quizzes, and multimedia presentations, while a built-in “Guardrail” mechanism ensures each output remains pedagogically sound, ethically aligned, and culturally sensitive. The platform’s multilingual capabilities further support accessibility for learners across diverse regions.

Since its initial prototype, the ACCLAIMED team has delivered a revamped user interface that improves workflow and navigation, offering educators a cleaner and more intuitive experience. This redesign supports the platform’s evolution from an experimental research tool into a robust academic co-authoring environment.
One of the most impactful new features is the ability for lecturers and academics to upload their own teaching materials directly into the platform. Leveraging a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) ingestion structure, ACCLAIMED can now use this uploaded content to co-author lesson plans, course modules, and assessment material in collaboration with educators. This update transforms the system from a purely generative AI assistant into a genuine academic partner that builds upon each lecturer’s unique expertise and pedagogical style.

These innovations are already seeing real-world application. At the Department of Artificial Intelligence within the Faculty of ICT at the University of Malta, ACCLAIMED is being used to generate lesson content for micro-credential programmes, including slide decks, assessment quizzes, and structured lesson plans. Early results show the system’s potential to accelerate curriculum development while maintaining academic rigor and creativity.

With these developments, ACCLAIMED continues to advance its mission of democratising access to quality education through intelligent, localised, and scalable AI solutions. By integrating user-driven data ingestion, ethical safeguards, and immersive content generation, the platform is positioning itself as a cornerstone of the next generation of digital learning technology.

As development continues, the ACCLAIMED team is exploring further collaborations with educational institutions and preparing for broader pilot deployments, thereby signalling a new chapter in AI-assisted education that bridges the gap between human expertise and machine intelligence.
