As part of the MRER 20x20 Anniversary Celebrations, the Malta Review of Educational Research officially launched its new website on Friday 5 June 2026 at the Valletta Campus Theatre, UM.
The launch marks another significant milestone in MRER's two-decade journey of promoting educational research, scholarly dialogue, and knowledge exchange within Malta and beyond.
Designed with both researchers and readers in mind, the new website offers enhanced accessibility, improved functionality, and a more intuitive user experience.
Visitors can now navigate the journal's extensive archive more efficiently, access content through improved search capabilities, and engage with research in a more dynamic and user-friendly environment.
The platform also extends MRER's international reach by incorporating innovative digital features, including AI-assisted tools that facilitate discovery, navigation, and engagement with published scholarship.
These developments reflect MRER's commitment to remaining at the forefront of academic publishing while embracing emerging technologies that support research dissemination and knowledge mobilisation.
In the words of Prof. Carmel Borg, founding editor and current Editor-in-Chief of MRER, “the new website strengthens MRER’s commitment to making educational research more visible, accessible, and impactful for academics, practitioners, policymakers, and students alike. It provides a robust platform for future innovation, collaboration, and scholarly exchange, ensuring that the journal continues to contribute meaningfully to educational thought, research, and practice in Malta and beyond”.
