The 50th edition of THINK, the University of Malta’s Research Magazine, is now available for you to read and enjoy in its full glory.
Change begins with disruption.
Take a caterpillar: before it becomes a butterfly, it enters a stage of transformation. Its body within the chrysalis begins to dissolve, and what seemed complete is broken apart, creating the conditions for something else to emerge. Then, weeks later, the butterfly takes flight, as something new.
Transformation demands more than adaptation – it requires rethinking assumptions, questioning structures, and even imagining alternate possibilities.
The 50th edition of THINK is dedicated to these pivotal moments of transition, when individuals, communities and institution stand between what is and what could be.
Starting with the change in leadership at the University, on to the exploration of new ways of understanding of the world around us, and questioning what if workplaces were designed around human diversity rather than uniformity, or how is Malta's evolving urban landscape influencing our sense of identity and belonging, each article, each question reflects a willingness to move beyond what we are familiar with.
As THINK reaches its 50th issue, we celebrate not only a milestone, but a mindset: one that embraces curiosity, welcomes change, and recognises that the future is not something we simply witness
The world is changing. The question is not whether transformation will occur, but how we will shape it.
