The University of Malta Students’ Futsal Team (UM Futsal) is excited to announce that open trials for the upcoming season will take place on Saturday, 20 September 2025 at 13:30 at the Ta’ Qali Pavilion (opposite the National Stadium).
Applications are now open through the official registration link: umfutsal.com/trials.
The trials are open to all University of Malta students, regardless of experience level. Whether participants are seasoned futsal players or newcomers eager to get involved, this is a unique opportunity to showcase their skills on the court, and compete for a spot on the official UM Futsal squad, which would give the honour of representing the University of Malta in national competitions and events.
The participants can meet meet fellow students and potential teammates, while learning more about the club’s operations and the community.
Selections will be conducted by the team’s coach, technical staff, and committee. While enthusiasm and effort are highly valued, final squad selection will be based on specific sporting and team criteria.
Participants are reminded that futsal shoes are required (cleats are not permitted).“Each year, our trials bring together a wide range of students who are passionate about sport and eager to represent the University,” said Luka Aras, a UM Futsal official.
“We are excited to discover new talent, welcome fresh faces into our community, and continue building a strong and competitive team. ”In addition to players, UM Futsal is also inviting students with interests in administration, marketing, and team management to get in touch and contribute to the club’s growth off the court. Terms and conditions apply.
