Carnival spirit fills campus at Lunchtime Initiative

On 17 February, the UM campus came alive with colour, music, and celebration during the Carnival Lunchtime Initiative. Bringing together staff and students for a lively midday break, the event offered a joyful pause from the day’s routine and a chance to connect in a festive atmosphere.

The quadrangle was filled with colourful Carnival floaters, while prinjolata, along with a selection of refreshments, was served to the university community. A live band, dressed in full Carnival spirit, filled the space with festive music. More than just a moment of entertainment, the initiative highlighted the importance of shared cultural experiences in strengthening community bonds on campus.

The event was coordinated by the Conferences and Events Unit, in collaboration with the Research, Innovation and Development Trust and Festivals Malta, reflecting a collective effort to celebrate culture, creativity, and togetherness within the University.
