Assisting You in Supporting Others FactSheet Now Available: This Time About ADHD

A Second Factsheet in the series ‘Assisting You in Supporting Others’, the ADHD FactSheet [PDF] is now available to help staff better understand and support students with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), ultimately ensuring a positive, inclusive and safe learning experience within lecture halls and beyond.

This initiative is a collaboration between the University’s Equity Office, and ADSU, the Disability Support Unit.

What information does the new resource include?

  • A clear overview of what ADHD is and how it can present itself in university settings
  • How ADHD can affect students, and insight into how it can impact wellbeing
  • Guidance on inclusive teaching and communication approaches
  • How small adjustments in teaching design can benefit all students, not just those with ADHD

Why keep a copy handy?

Having the factsheet handy will help you respond appropriately and sensitively to student needs, create a more accessible classroom environment and strengthen your confidence in promoting inclusion across the university.

Together, we can make every student feel seen and supported.
