Applications Open for EcoFem Permaculture Design Course in Slovenia

Applications are now open for the EcoFem Permaculture Design Course (PDC), an immersive international learning experience that will bring together young people from across Europe to explore regenerative living, ecological design, and ecofeminist approaches to change.

Taking place in the Sunny Hills of Istria project, Slovenia, and hosted by the Slovene Permaculture Association, the course is part of the Erasmus+ funded EcoFem project led by the University of Malta. This project aims to empower young people with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to contribute to more resilient, sustainable, and equitable communities.

The programme is based on the internationally recognised 72-hour Permaculture Design Curriculum and combines online and in-person classroom learning with practical, hands-on activities, collaborative design projects, and community living. Participants will have the opportunity to learn directly from experienced practitioners while engaging with real-world environmental and social challenges.

The course explores the connections between ecological sustainability, social justice, and ecofeminism, encouraging participants to develop systems thinking, ecological literacy, and practical design skills that can be applied in their own communities.

Through the programme, participants will:
- Learn the ethics and principles of permaculture;
- Gain practical experience in regenerative agriculture and sustainable land management;
- Explore ecofeminist perspectives on environmental and social challenges;
- Develop skills in ecological design and systems thinking;
- Collaborate with an international network of young changemakers;
- Design ecological solutions for their own communities

The EcoFem Permaculture Design Course is open to young people aged 18–30 residing in Italy, Slovenia and Malta who are interested in sustainability, environmental action, community development, and social transformation. Participants are expected to actively engage in the full learning experience and contribute to the organisation of post-course event or workshop.
