Call for Applications: Post/s of Part-Time Research Support Officer II

The Department of Midwifery requires the services of a Research Support Officer II.

The ideal candidate must have completed a Master’s programme offered by the University of Malta within the Department of Midwifery, another relevant department at the Faculty of Health Sciences, or the Faculty of Social Wellbeing. The candidate must also have experience in using data analysis software and conducting quantitative statistical analyses. Preference will be given to candidates who have published quantitative research in peer-reviewed journals.

This post will be for a period from 28.09.26 until 11.12.26 and will be expected to work a total maximum of 116 hours. The Research Support Officer II will be remunerated at the rate of €14.58 per hour.

The selected candidate must be living in Malta for the period of employment.

Further Information

The following is a list of tasks that the appointee may be required to do:

• Transfer and organise research data using appropriate data analysis software;
• Select and conduct appropriate statistical analyses;
• Contribute to the presentation and interpretation of quantitative research findings;
• Support the drafting and preparation of research papers for publication;
• Undertake any other duties directly related to quantitative data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.

The appointee is expected to work:
a. on a part-time basis; and
b. at such places and during such hours as may be determined by the University authorities.

The selection procedure will involve:
a. scrutiny of qualifications and experience claimed and supported by testimonials and/or certificates (copies to be included with the application);
b. short-listing; and
c. an interview and / or extended interview.

The appointment will be subject to a probationary period, and to the provisions of the Statutes, Regulations and Bye-Laws of the University which are now or which may hereafter be in force.
