Call for Papers: The Military Orders IX: Documents & Monuments

We are pleased to announce the Military Orders Conference (MO9), scheduled to take place in Malta from 9 to 12 September 2026. The official Call for Papers is now open, and scholars are invited to submit their proposals. Different types of submissions, including panels and 20-mins papers, are welcome and are to adhere to the following submission guidelines: 

Panel

• Title
• 200-word abstract
• Full names, affiliations, titles and abstracts of the individual contributions (max. 3)

Paper (20 mins)

• Title
• 200-word abstract
• Full name and affiliation

There are a few important dates to keep in mind: the submission deadline is 14 February 2026, notifications will be sent out by 14 March 2026. The event itself will take place from 9 to 12 September 2026 in Malta.

The conference is being organised by the Department of History (Faculty of Arts) and the Department of Library Information & Archive Sciences (Faculty of Media & Knowledge Sciences) of the University of Malta, with the support of:
