Prof. Charles Yousif has just returned from a trip to the University of Burgos, Spain, where he participated as an external examiner in a PhD Examining Board.

The PhD thesis entitled: "New Developments in Photovoltaic-Thermal (PVT) Hybrid System with Thermal Storage: Design, Modelling and Experimental Validation" by Manuel Garcia Fuente, has developed a breakthrough technology combining phase-change materials infused in expanded graphite plates, to enhance the limited heat transfer and thermal conductivity of PCM by a factor of 35, opening new horizons for novel PVT panels that can cool the PV cells, while generating appreciable amounts of thermal energy for low energy uses.
