Sergio Grech: the voice behind Tradutturi on Campus 103.7

Sergio Grech was born in 1975 and hails from Żejtun. In 2022, he obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Malta. Since 1999, he has been active in the world of radio, beginning his broadcasting career with Ir-Radju tal-Università and Radio Malta. Over the years, he has presented a variety of programmes, mainly focusing on Maltese history and the Maltese language.

Grech is also a prolific writer and researcher. He has published several books, including four biographies, the novel Il-Lejl tal-Irġulija, U Tisbaħ Missier and Ħallejtna Bħall-Erbgħa fost il-ġimgħa. He has also published several research articles in peer-reviewed academic journals. In addition, he serves as editor of the book series Bejn Storja u Miti. Grech is also president of L-Akkademja tal-Malti.

His current radio programme, Tradutturi, explores the work of translators, with a particular emphasis on literary translation and the contribution of translators to the literary world.

By profession, Grech is an educator and currently serves as a Deputy Head of School. His interests include education, Maltese culture, history, literature, and broadcasting.
