The International Office hosted Ms Eleonora Masella, the Head of Departmental Administration at the Department of Law in the European University Institute (EUI), between 20 and 21 October as part of the EUI Widening Europe Programme.
This programme aims to build bridges between the EUI and partner institutions, including through activities specifically addressed to professional staff, enabling the sharing of expertise and best practices at the administrative level.
The visit served as a valuable discussion for the UM and the EUI to learn more about each other. Ms Masella met with several offices at UM related to her role at EUI including the Doctoral School, the Faculty of Laws, the Office of the Academic Registrar, the Internal Audit Team and the Institute for European Studies.
During the meetings several aspects of collaboration were identified including Erasmus traineeships for students and staff, exchange of academics as guest lecturers, sending of EUI academics to UM as external examiners for the viva-voce examination and visiting opportunities for self-funded researchers at EUI.
