The University of Malta is pleased to host Maria Luís Albuquerque, Commissioner for Financial Services and the Savings and Investments Union, for a special session titled “Talking with the Future.”

This open discussion will bring together UM students and staff to explore one of today’s most pressing economic questions: How can we encourage higher levels of investment to strengthen the economy?

Drawing on her extensive experience in finance, policy, and European economic affairs, Commissioner Albuquerque will share insights into the current investment landscape, challenges faced by younger generations, and the role of education and innovation in shaping a resilient economic future.

Students will have the opportunity to engage directly with the Commissioner, ask questions, and exchange ideas about how individual and collective financial decisions can contribute to sustainable growth.
