The CERN in Malta Conference will be taking place on 20 November 2025 at the Esplora Planetarium Hall, Villa Bighi, Kalkara. The event is being organised by Xjenza Malta in collaboration with CERN, and will be bringing together CERN researchers, UM academics, and students for a day dedicated to Malta’s contribution in various CERN projects.
The conference aims to encourage greater participation of UM academics and students in CERN projects, with sessions highlighting current research themes and opportunities for involvement in ongoing and future initiatives. Visiting CERN researchers will be discussing the work and recent developments of multiple collaborative efforts at CERN, while UM academics will be showcasing projects where Maltese expertise is being contributed in different research areas.
The event will also feature Malta’s ongoing relationship with CERN and the progress made over the past years together with the various collaborations that have been developed. This includes a look at postgraduate research projects carried out by UM students at CERN, throughout the past years.
The CERN in Malta Conference aims to provide an opportunity for UM researchers and students to network with CERN representatives and engage in new collaborations in various areas within this prestigious international research institution.
