The Department of Physiotherapy is hosting a Professor from Glasgow Caledonian University for a Public Lecture.

Prof. Dawn Skelton BSc PhD MD.h.c. Hon FCSP FRCP Edin is a Professor of Ageing and Health, and a member of the Ageing Well Research Group and Research Centre for Health (ReaCH).

Join us for an insightful lecture that challenges the perception of frailty as an inevitable and fixed state. Professor Skelton will explore the powerful role that physical activity and targeted exercise play in promoting healthy ageing, managing frailty, and improving the quality of life for older adults.

This session is a must-attend for healthcare professionals, students, researchers, and anyone with an interest in ageing well.

The title of the lecture is 'Moving Well: Frailty is not a static state: Physical activity and exercise make a difference.'

Her presence in Malta is part of a joint collaboration between the University of Malta - Department of Physiotherapy, and St Vincent de Paul on a research project called Promoting Physical Activity in the Retirement transition (PPAiR).

Her visit to Malta has been made possible with funding and support from Sportmalta.
