Spooky Season at the UM Library: A Week of Creativity, Community, and Chills

Join us for a week of spooky creativity, chilling conversations, and hauntingly good fun! All paid events will contribute towards the LACES Project, supporting Library initiatives through art and community engagement. All events are hosted at the Main Library in the Periodicals Study Space.

Unleash your inner witch or wizard and craft your own shimmering, Halloween-inspired bookmark. Each person will get 5 bookmark templates, gems, and accessories. Sip on coffee or tea, nibble on biscuits, and let your imagination sparkle!

Tuesday, 28 October — 18:00–19:30: UM Library and THINK Present — An Evening with Anton Grasso

Join us for a spine-chilling evening celebrating Malta’s master of horror, Anton Grasso, who will be with us to share his work, insights, and the dark imagination behind his acclaimed creations. Together, we’ll dive into his haunting tales, creative inspirations, and the roots of fear in Maltese storytelling.

Thursday, 30 October — 18:00–19:30: Paint Your Own Pumpkin Figure by Plaster Alchemy

Step into the artist’s lab for a magical hands-on session! Paint your own Halloween pumpkin figure while enjoying the cosy creative atmosphere. Perfect for adding a personal touch to your spooky décor. All materials provided.

Meet new people in a mysterious way — masked and mingling! Each round lasts five minutes, giving you just enough time to make a hauntingly good impression before the bell rings.

End the week with a relaxed Halloween evening under the stars! Bring your own food and drinks, enjoy music, and unwind with fellow students and staff. A casual get-together to celebrate the spooky season and make new connections.
