Date: Monday 2 March 2026
Time: 12:00 (noon)
Venue: UM Library
Ahead of International Women’s Day, the Equity Office, in collaboration with the University Library, is hosting a exhibition dedicated to the work and contributions of Rose Lapira, an art critic and former university lecturer.
The exhibition will be officially inaugurated on Monday 2 March 2026 at 12:00 and will remain open to the public until 27 March 2026.
The full programme is available online.
This curated exhibition features a selection of archival materials donated to the University of Malta Women’s Archive by Rose Lapira. The collection offers a unique look into her work through a variety of her own television programme scripts and newspaper articles.
The exhibition aims to raise awareness about the importance of documenting women’s experiences, many of which have historically been underrepresented or overlooked in traditional archives.
Open to students, staff, and members of the general public, the Women’s Archive Exhibition offers a meaningful space for reflection, learning, and dialogue. It also underscores the University’s ongoing commitment to equity, inclusion, and the recognition of diverse contributions within academia and beyond.
Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to engage with the archive throughout its two-week run and to reflect on the role of memory, representation, and history in advancing gender equality.
