Would you love to try out a virtual reality headset? Have an inside look at Malta’s underwater history? Or, debate the odd local language situation? THINKtalks will be happening again at 19:30 Wednesday, 19 July, this time at the University of Malta’s Quadrangle, promising another fun research night with refreshments.
Dr Vanessa Camilleri (Faculty of ICT), Dr Timmy Gambin (Faculty of Arts) and Dr Sarah Grech (Centre for English Language Proficiency) will be joining us for the evening, ready and raring to showcase their work. Vanessa will be focusing on the VR experience she and her team created to help enhance the user’s empathy towards people from different cultures through storytelling. Timmy will share his team’s efforts in bringing the wealth of our island’s underwater history to light, including a vast catalogue of long-lost artifacts. Sarah will close the night with an analysis into the sensitivities of language in Malta and the importance of context within that discussion.
Doors open at 19:30, will you be there?
